Max Mercury sai nopeusvoiman voiman ollessaan Yhdysvaltain ratsuväen jäsen 1800-luvulla. A dying shaman enchanted Max, granting him unlimited super-speed and the ability to shift his molecules and pass through solid objects. Known over the years as Quicksilver, Windrunner, Whip Whirlwind, and the Zen Master of Speed, Max tried to penetrate the mysteries of the Speed Force many times.
